Daily Dose - Friday 3rd Week

Oops, apologies for failing to inform you of things that went on yesterday and being a bit late today. In compensation, I can inform you of a potentially very therapeutic event:

Since the Keble Dean has banned snowballing on college grounds, at 1.45 Keble the students of the college are to meet at the lodge to head to the Parks and create a SnowDean who is then to be bombarded with snowballs (or shoes/stones/tomatoes if you so wish). If you have any angst hidden away, do join them and unleash it - the erected figure can represent a variety of persons, including your tutor, your ex-girlfriend, or anyone else who you feel deserves to be publicly destroyed. Even me, for not supplying you with enough information on time about the arty events that are hapening in our glorious university.

Earth from the Air - exhibition of 120 double-bed sized photos by Yann Arthus-Bertan of many different beautiful things our planet boasts. Celebrating the Earth's beauty, so to say (as well as raising awareness of the impact we're having on it...) Held at the Oxford Castle

10.30-1pm & 2-4.30pm Hark the Herald Angels Sing! - X-mas-themed 16th-17th century Old Master Drawings (including Tititan & Corregio) at the Christ Church Art Gallery, £2. Bit off-season if you ask us, but there you go.

10am to 5pm The Body of Others - exhibition of performances and actions by Guatemalan artist Regina José Galindo. Sounds pretty intense, representing the imbalances of power in her country (sexism, relationship with the States, violence, etc.) Held at Modern Art Oxford. Free.

10am to 5pm Encounters - exhibition of sculputres and installations by Raphaël Zarka. The overlapping themes include scateboarding, landscapes and public space. Held at Modern Art Oxford. Free
7.30pm - Art by Yasmin Reza - BT. £5/£4 student

8pm, 'Vivaldi's Four Seasons as you've not heard it before' is what they have to say about themselves. At the Sheldonian Theatre, tickets £10+. Call 0870 7500659 if interested.

Special pre-Valentine's Day Sonnet Workshop at Christ Church in Lecture room (couldn' really find more information)

9.30pm - Mankind - BT - £5/£4 student
